- Introduction
The Board of Directors of the Company wishes to announce that OWB has on 6 June 2007 entered into a Business Collaboration Agreement ("Agreement") with Koperasi Pendidikan Islam Malaysia Berhad ("UKHWAH") to offer a special purchase scheme to UKHWAH's members of the products of OWB.
- Information on UKHWAH
UKHWAH is a co-operative society registered in Malaysia under the Societies Act, 1993 and having its registered office address at No. 28, Tingkat 2, Lorong Medan Tuanku Satu, 50300 Kuala Lumpur.
UKHWAH's members comprise government servants and its objective is to increase the economic well-being of its members through activities based on co-operative principles.
- Rationale
OWB will be able to tap into a new market namely, the Government Servant Sector and increase its market share as well as further establish the OGAWA brand presence in Malaysia. This will provide the Government servants an opportunity to enjoy a healthy lifestyle through the use of OGAWA products at flexible payment scheme apart from the existing payment methods offered by OWB.
This presents an additional channel of distribution for OWB where additional sales revenue is expected to be generated for the Company.
- Financial Effects
The above is not expected to have any material effect on the share capital, consolidated net assets per share and earnings per share of OWB. It will however improve the future earnings of OWB once the activities start.
- Directors' and Substantial Shareholders' Interest
None of the other Directors and/or substantial shareholders of OWB and person connected with them have any interest direct or indirect in the above.
